Dr. John Rock, the distinguished Dean of the FIU College of
Medicine followed up the panel discussion of the
previous month with a formal lecture on the topic of the
Business of Medicine. Dr. Rock, as educator,
researcher, and practitioner, brings a unique

economic, professional, and ethical practices.
Dr. Rock is former director of the Division of
Reproductive Endocrinology and the Department of
Gynecology and Obstetrics at Johns Hopkins Medical
Institutions. He also served as chairman and director of
residency training programs in the Department of
Gynecology and Obstetrics at Emory University School
of Medicine. Dr. Rock earned his M.D. in 1972 at LSU
and did his residency at Duke University's Medical
Center. Recently, he returned to school, earning an
M.S. in public health at Harvard University in 2003

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County hosted an art-inspired version of its popular “Food Truck Friday” lunchtime event highlighting the 2012-2013 Broadway in Miami Season*, which kicks off with the worldwide party musical Rock of Ages.
