United Way of Palm Beach County held its 2011-2012 Annual Meeting & Campaign Awards Breakfast at the West Palm Beach Marriott on June 21 from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. This highly anticipated annual event was emceed by beloved NewsChannel 5 Meteorologist, Kait Parker and highlighted several individuals’ personal stories about United Way funded programs that made a difference in their lives and the lives of their loved ones.
Awards were given to top workplace campaigns, donors, board members and volunteers who all helped make the 2011-12 year a success. Annual Meeting business also took place, including the passing of the gavel from current Chairman of the Board, Art Menor, to incoming Chairman of the Board, Jay Shearouse. This event offered an excellent opportunity to learn more about what United Way does for Palm Beach County, meet staff, as well as representatives from 40 local partner nonprofit organizations. Sponsors include Publix Super Markets, NextEra Energy, Inc., Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Mutual of America.
